Artist (Poet, Photographer, and Writer)

Hi, I am Ida Louise Johnson, a creative soul.  Pencils and a camera have been my go to tools all of my life. I got my first camera at age 10, a Kodak Brownie.  In the past five years, I have begun to paint, mostly with acrylics and soft pastels. 

As Ida Louise Johnson, I have 2 unpublished books of poetry and have self-published meditation booklets which contain my photographs along with daily reflections based on the Daily Office.

 I had my first solo photo show in 2004 at the parish I served in North Carolina as their rector. I had a second show at a parish in San Francisco in 2011. My photographs are shown and sold as photos by eyeljay.

My latest creative work beside photograph and painting is writing. I have 4 unfinished romance novels, looking to have the first one published by the end of the summer. Ivy Jade is my author name. Writing romance novels which feature 50-60-year-old interracial couples.

 Art is “finding the extraordinary in the ordinary”.
